SOUTH AUSTRALIAN VISITOR & TRAVEL CENTRE
TERMS OF TRADE
The professional services of the staff of the South Australian Visitor & Travel Centre are free of charge for the purchase of any type of travel, but the following charges apply as indicated.
Security Deposit
A security deposit of $50 per adult is payable within 7 days of confirmation of bookings per itinerary component. When booking travel arrangements during some SA Events, additional deposits or prepayments may be required at the time of confirmation, you will be advised of these by your travel consultant. Please check your confirmation itinerary carefully prior to paying your deposit.
Final Payment
Payment in full is required 30 days prior to departure date. For bookings made less than 30 days prior to departure date, full payment is required within 48 hours of confirmation.
Amendments
Any changes made to a confirmed reservation after it has been accepted by the payment of a deposit will attract an amendment fee of $20 per request.
Airline Bookings
Due to reduction of commissions by airlines, all airline bookings, will incur a $15 transaction fee from 01 July 05. Amendments to airline bookings can incur a reissue fee by the airline plus a $10 amendment fee by the SA Visitor & Travel Centre.
Cancellation
In the event of cancellation the following fees will be levied:
- Cancellation notified more than 30 days prior to departure will be entitled to a full refund
- Cancellation notified 30 days or less and more than 14 days prior to departure will forfeit the full deposit
- Cancellations 14 days or less prior to departure will forfeit all monies paid
During some SA major events cancellation fees may vary by accommodation operators over and above the standard fees
Insurance
Travel Insurance should be purchased at the time your deposit is paid to provide immediate protection. Varying levels of cover are available, should you choose not to purchase travel insurance you will be responsible for all cancellation fees charged by operators.
Prices
All prices are current at the time of booking, however are subject to change without notice. All prices quoted are inclusive of Goods & Services Tax (GST) where applicable.

HOLIDAY AFFAIRS ONLINE PROMOTION
- Information on how to enter and prizes form part of these Conditions of Entry. Entry into this promotion is deemed acceptance of these Conditions of Entry by each entrant. Entry is via Internet only.
- Any costs associated with accessing the promotional website remain the responsibility of each entrant and are dependent on the Internet service provider used. Any contact details entered incorrectly on the website shall be deemed invalid and will result in an ineligible entry.
- Entry is free and only open to residents of NSW, ACT, VIC and QLD aged 18 years and over who log on to www.holidayaffairs.com.au during the promotional period. The directors, management and employees of the Promoter, its related companies and agencies and the immediate families of the above listed persons are ineligible to participate.
- To enter the promotion, eligible entrants must, during the promotional period, log on to www.holidayaffairs.com.au and complete in full and submit in the manner required the online entry form. In order to fully complete the online entry form, eligible entrants must provide their full name, residential address, telephone number, current and valid email address and opt-in to receiving marketing materials from the Promoter and its promotional partners in accordance with Condition 20.
- Each eligible entrant is limited to one entry in the promotion draw. Any subsequent entry after the first valid entry received from an entrant will be invalid. Internet entries will be deemed to be accepted at the time of receipt and not at the time of transmission. Entries must be received by the Promoter during the promotional period. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for late, lost or misdirected entries. Incomplete, ineligible or incomprehensible entries will be deemed invalid.
- Promotion commences at 6:00am (AEST) on 27/4/2008 and closes at 11:59pm (AEST) on 31/7/2008. The prize draw will take place at 11:00am (AEST) on 4/8/2008 at South Australian Tourism Commission, Level 6, 50 Grenfell Street Adelaide SA 5000. The winner will be notified by telephone and mail or email and their names and locality will be published in The Australian on 8/8/2008. All reasonable steps to notify the winner of the results of the draw will be taken by the Promoter. Judges' decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
- The first eligible entry randomly drawn from all eligible entries received will win one (1) $450.00 South Australian Visitor & Travel Centre Gift Voucher. The Gift Voucher is subject to prevailing terms and conditions of use and is not replaceable if lost or stolen. The Gift Voucher is valid for 12 months from the date the winner is issued the prize.
- Total maximum prize pool value is up to $450.00 (Recommended Retail Price including GST). The prize is not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be taken as cash. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any tax implications that may arise from the prize winnings. Independent financial advice should be sought. The Promoter accepts no liability for prizes lost or damaged in transit.
- Entrants can only enter in their own name. The Promoter reserves the right to request the winner to produce (within the requested time) appropriate photo identification or other documentation (to the Promoter’s satisfaction, at its sole discretion) in order to confirm the winner’s identity, age, residential or email address, eligibility to enter and claim a prize and any information submitted by the winner in entering the promotion, before issuing a prize. If the documentation required by the Promoter is not received by the Promoter (or its nominated agent) or the winning entry has not been verified or validated to the Promoter’s satisfaction within the time requested, the winner’s entry will become invalid. The prize will only be awarded following any winner validation and verification that the Promoter requires in its sole discretion.
- If any prize or element of a prize becomes unavailable for any reason beyond the Promoter’s reasonable control, then a similar prize or prize element of equal or greater value will be awarded to the winner in lieu, subject to any written directions made under applicable State or Territory legislation.
- The Promoter may conduct such further draws as are necessary at the same time and place as the original draw as are necessary on 10/11/2008 in order to distribute any prizes unclaimed by that date subject to any written directions given under applicable State or Territory legislation. Any winner in an unclaimed prize draw will be notified by telephone and mail or email and their name and locality will be published in The Australian on 14/11/2008.
- The Promoter and its associated agencies and companies shall not be liable for any loss (including, without limitation, indirect or consequential loss), damage, personal injury or death which is suffered or sustained (including but not limited to that arising from any person's negligence) in connection with using any prize, except any liability that cannot be excluded by law (in which case that liability is limited to the minimum allowable by law).
- The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of entries and reserves the right to disqualify any entrant for tampering with the entry process or for submitting an entry which is not in accordance with these Conditions of Entry, or if the entrant is engaged in any unlawful or other improper misconduct calculated to jeopardise the fair and proper conduct of the promotion. The Promoter’s legal rights to recover damages or other compensation from such an offender are reserved.
- Caution: any attempt to deliberately damage the promotion website or the information on the promotion website, to cause malicious damage or interference with the normal functioning of the promotion website, or to otherwise undermine the legitimate operation of this promotion may be a violation of criminal and civil laws and should such an attempt be made, whether successful or not, the Promoter reserves the right to seek damages to the fullest extent permitted by law. If the Promoter suffers loss or incurs any costs in connection with any breach of these conditions of entry or any other legal obligation by an entrant, the entrant agrees to indemnify the promoter for those losses, damages and costs.
- The Promoter is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone or network or lines, servers or providers, computer equipment, software, technical problems or traffic congestion on a mobile network, or any combination thereof, or any other technical failures including any damage to entrant's or any other person's mobile handset or computer related to, or resulting from, participation in this promotion or the downloading of any materials related to this promotion.
- If for any reason this promotion is not capable of running as planned because of infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, technical failures or any other causes beyond the control of the Promoter which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this promotion, the Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the promotion, subject to any written directions given under applicable State or Territory legislation.
- The use of any automated entry software or any other mechanical or electronic means that allows an entrant to automatically enter repeatedly is prohibited and will render all entries submitted by that entrant invalid.
- The Promoter will not be responsible for any incorrect, inaccurate or incomplete information communicated in the course of, or in connection with, this promotion if the deficiency is occasioned by any cause outside the reasonable control of the Promoter.
- Entrants consent and agree to the Promoter using the entrant’s name, likeness, image and/or voice in the event they are a winner of the draw (including photograph, film and/or recording of the same) in any media for an unlimited period of time without remuneration or compensation for the purpose of promoting, publicising or marketing this promotion (including any outcome), and promoting any products manufactured, distributed and/or supplied by the Promoter. The winner agrees to participate in all reasonable promotional activities in relation to this promotion as requested by the Promoter and its agents.
- All entries become and remain the property of the Promoter. The Promoter collects personal information about entrants to include entrants in the promotion and where appropriate award prizes.
