These days, most customers are searching for information about travel destinations and experiences online. The South Australian Tourism Commission (SATC) is helping tourism operators to get their businesses online and connected to technology that will make it easier for customers to reach them.

TXA Tourism Exchange Australia

The SATC supports the national online booking platform, Tourism Exchange Australia (TXA). TXA is a booking exchange that incorporates inventory and pricing from multiple booking systems before distributing to various websites. It offers increased sales and  the ability to source quality product, and book securely online.

The Australian Tourism Data Warehouse (ATDW) and V3 formed an alliance in 2008 to provide the Australian tourism industry with a combination of the current services offered by ATDW and V3. This alliance delivered a national, inclusive booking exchange called Tourism Exchange Australia (TXA).

ATDW collects tourism content from all Australian States and Territories and publishes it on multiple websites, while V3 enables consumers to book the product immediately. TXA connects both ATDW and V3 Travel systems and services to deliver a comprehensive suite of online, bookable Australian tourism products to consumers via ATDW's licensed distributors.

TXA was created to meet consumers’ growing need for a wider choice of online tourism products and to support the industry and in particular, encourage small suppliers to access the online e-commerce market.

SouthAustralia.com

Southaustralia.com is the state’s global online gateway for travelers to South Australia. The website was relaunched in 2011, with unique visitor numbers to the site now approaching two million annually.

TXA is the supplier of inventory and pricing for southaustralia.com, so to receive bookings from the website, tourism businesses need to be connected to TXA and opt into southaustralia.com as a distributor. For tourism product with a listing on the ATDW, but not connected to TXA, consumers are provided with a link to the product website.

Tourism eKit

The highly regarded, multi-award winning Tourism e kit resource, developed by the Australian Tourism Data Warehouse (ATDW) covers the A to Z of online marketing and distribution.

From 1 July 2015 the e kit has transitioned to a new home within TourismTribe.com and will offer a whole new level of support for tourism operators and destinations.
