South Australia’s Adam Internet has been welcomed as a major partner of the 2014 Santos Tour Down Under.
Adam Internet is the new naming rights sponsor of the sprint jersey awarded to the cyclist who accumulates the most sprint points across the six stages of the Santos Tour Down Under.
Minister for Tourism Leon Bignell said it was fantastic to see a strong South Australian brand supporting the southern hemisphere’s largest cycling event.
“The Santos Tour Down Under is one of South Australia’s most iconic events, so it is great to see Adam Internet providing support and lending its name to the sprint jersey,” Mr Bignell said.
“As the most prestigious cycling event outside Europe, the Santos Tour Down Under is an excellent way to showcase Adam Internet to a growing national and international audience.”
Minister Bignell said the world’s best cyclists had worn the sprint jersey at the Santos Tour Down Under, including German powerhouse André Greipel and Australian sprint champion Robbie McEwen.
“The sprint jersey is awarded to the fastest man in the peloton, and there is no doubt that the Adam Internet Sprint Jersey will be hotly contested at the 2014 Santos Tour Down Under,” Mr Bignell said.
“The Santos Tour Down Under promises to deliver many exciting moments for fans later this month, so I encourage everyone to come along and check out the action.”
Michael Owen, Chief Operating Officer of Adam Internet, was thrilled to be supporting the Santos Tour Down Under for the sixth year running.
“Adam Internet is committed to South Australia and we are regularly looking for ways that we can be involved with our community,” Mr Owen said.
“The Santos Tour Down Under gives us an opportunity that not only brings the community together, but also promotes the best our great state has to offer.”
The Santos Tour Down Under will be held in Adelaide and regional South Australia from 19-26 January 2014.
