21 March 2014

The Louise Barossa Valley and Appellation today joined international hospitality group Relais & Châteaux as one of only four Australian properties to be a part of this prestigious group.

Known for its opulent rooms and culinary destination restaurant Appellation, The Louise Barossa Valley joins Relais & Châteaux alongside premier properties including Hamilton Island’s Qualia Resort and Spa and Sydney’s Tetsuya’s restaurant.

The South Australian Tourism Commission’s Chief Executive Rodney Harrex said the Barossa is a world class destination well recognised for its premium wine and food as well as for its wide ranging accommodation and holiday experiences.

“ The Barossa is an hour’s drive from Adelaide which makes it a highly desirable destination for visitors and locals. ”

“Relais & Châteaux properties are well known in the American and European markets and The Louise being a part of this premier brand is a testament of the quality and standards of the property ,” Mr Harrex said.

“Guests at The Louise are guaranteed the best in both luxury accommodation and exquisite food at the in-house restaurant, Appellation.

“To be a part of the Relâis & Chateaux group is great endorsement and international recognition for The Louise and I commend Jim and his team on today’s announcement.”

Owner of The Louise and Appellation Jim Carreker said joining R&C had been a long-time goal.

“Long before Helen and I moved from San Francisco to South Australia a decade ago to develop our vision for a destination restaurant with luxury guest rooms in one of the world’s great wine regions, we had preselected Relais & Châteaux as our preferred global marketing partner,” Mr Carreker said.

“We are pleased to be at the forefront of an expansion of Relais & Châteaux into Australia, coincident with the launch of a multi-year high profile positioning of Australia as an international culinary tourism destination by Tourism Australia.”

Relais & Châteaux has a loyal client base with many repeat customers to the 500 properties part of the group world-wide.
