November events set to excite

29 October 2012

Events South Australia General Manager Hitaf Rasheed said the city would welcome a number of major events during the month, with participants and supporters to arrive from all corners of the globe.

“The Rescue 2012 Lifesaving World Championships will kick off the action, followed by Feast Festival and the Credit Union Christmas Pageant,” Ms Rasheed said.

“The Australian International 3 Day Event will bring top equestrian competitors to the city, while the World Bowls Championships and Golden Oldies World Cricket Festival are sure to provide fierce competition and plenty of fun.

“Together these events have a projected economic impact of more than $35 million, and will further strengthen South Australia’s reputation as the home of world-class events and festivals.”

Representatives of the six major events listed above gathered in Victoria Square today to help promote November’s busy calendar.

“As the weather warms up it’s the perfect time to enjoy Adelaide’s diverse events scene,” Ms Rasheed said.

“We look forward to welcoming interstate and overseas event participants to the city and encourage visitors and residents to get out and embrace the fun on offer.”

Today’s promotion, organised by the South Australian Tourism Commission, complements outdoor advertising in place to emphasise the November events calendar.

A tram wrapped with an advertisement for November’s major events is now in use, and city pedestrians will notice colourful pavement graphics and postcards as part of the same promotion.

“Whether you’re looking for family fun, lively entertainment or spectacular sporting activities, it’s all happening in Adelaide,” Ms Rasheed said.
