Tourism Planning
The Tourism Planning Group's key role is the
strategic direction and alignment of broader Government policy and decision
making with the goals of the tourism industry, (as articulated in the joint
industry/Government South Australian Tourism Plan 2003-2008).
The Group's Key Objectives include:
-
Develop and maintain a clear vision for tourism industry growth (in conjunction
with key stakeholders)
-
Ensure Government 'rules' are aligned with SATC aspirations (vision and policy
alignment)
-
Encourage key stakeholders to become committed advocates for our tourism
vision
-
Remove unnecessary barriers to existing and new tourism development (focus on
industry competitiveness)
-
Facilitate the development of new quality tourism product (particularly
experiential accommodation relating to our key themes)
-
Build Local Government tourism planning capacity (to help communities
facilitate sustainable tourism).
