Accredited Visitor Information Centre Network in South Australia

VIC

Accredited Visitor Information Centres (VICs) play an important role in South Australia’s tourism industry. VICs make a significant economic contribution to tourism, particularly in regional areas, by providing information to visitors that encourages them to stay longer, spend more money, experience more attractions and revisit a region. VICs also create significant social benefits, as many rely heavily on a volunteer workforce and operate as an important community facility.

Only Accredited VICs can display the trademarked yellow italic 'i' sign, which serves to guarantee quality service and reliable information. National marketing and promotion of the brand ensures visitors to South Australia recognise Accredited VICs and the values they represent.

South Australia currently has a network of more than 40 Accredited VICs across the state, covering each of the state’s twelve tourism regions. Accredited VICs in South Australia employ over 170 paid staff, engage over 730 volunteers and assist in excess of 1.6 million visitors to the state.
